Roupas novas no guarda-roupa.
O ritmo é ótimo, prendendo a atenção do leitor.
5 estrelas.

(english review)
Hope .
A word that can move mountains ... or lead someone to a panic attack .
Cameron learned the hard way that hope is something he should not have.
When he was to turn 18, and had finally found someone to give his heart, he was betrayed. And this betrayal made him commit murder and go to jail. By chance, the victim was a judge's son.
After going through all kinds of possible torture inside the jail, for a miracle Cam is released. Without family - his father and only sister turned their backs to him - and nowhere to go, his release had as condition of getting a probationary period in a halfway house.
This house belonged to Matt and his partner Julian (Book # 1 A Better Man), he was taken there by Sam and became the first guest of the newly opened home.
Imagine his happiness of seeing that he would have a room all to himself, with a bi screen television. A bathroom without sharing it with other men and watching his rear. New clothes in the wardrobe. Simple things in everyday ,an's life, but to him had been stolen for 10 years. All this glimmer of hope caused on him his first panic attack since leaving behind bars.
Shortly after he gets a job at a diner run by an elderly and very friendly couple, Bill and Lucy. She was famous for her chocolate cookies, while Bill was responsible for the sandwiches and coffee; which by the way was crap.
Cameron finds hidden in the background of diner a modern coffee maker and takes on the job of learning how to drive that thing and serving different types of coffee to customers. And on account of this art he takes over he comes to know Hunter ...
Hunter Donovan, age 40, worked as an Assistant State Attorney in an office in front of the diner and was absolutely fanatic for Lucy's chocolate chip cookies. One afternoon he goes to the diner he meets the new Bill employee. And the visit to the diner, which was taken sporadically, became part of his agenda.
Cam was still racking my brain trying to make a decent latte art of praise and when he finally gets first heart-shaped, the client was no less than the man who for some reason messed with him.
Gradually - daily - they were exchanging a few words, until they start to have long talking at Cam's breaks. Something was in the air, but Hunter was respecting Cam's cautious way to be.
As they were getting along, Cameron began to worry about how to tell Hunter about his past . He didn't even know how to start because he knew, like everyone else, Hunter would go away as soon as he knew all the story; mainly because he was a lawyer.
In several cases where Hunter was working - and he was known as a ruthless promoter who would attack right the jugular - he began receiving a red files containing certain revelations that he normally would not have access. And he still did not know whether to receive them was good or bad because he did not know who was sending them. But what most surprised him was a white envelope ... Containing all the record of Cameron.
Hunter read everything that happened with Cam, and saw several holes in the case.
Thereafter strange situations begin to happen; less unlikely people show themselves involved in the scheme; nobody is trustworthy. Cameron was being hunted and Hunter would do everything possible to protect that he was changing his life in a way that not even he expected.
A real witch hunt. Many scapegoats. People disappearing without a trace. The book is a real thriller in romance form.
The pace is great , holding the reader's attention.
The characters are wonderful. The way in which the author shows Cam's entire process of inner healing is beautiful. He had his life changed when still young, his dreams, destroyed; Hope, rushed. Only after much effort he begins to realize that the people around him ( Julian and Matt, Bill and Lucy, Aidan - Hunter's friend of the Marine time, and Hunter himself) really wanted to help him.
Hunter was fortunate to have a more centered life, with a father who supports him unconditionally and still disturbs him about his romantic conquests. Aidan, now a cop, owes a debt payable to Hunter for the period they served together and go head in this case to help his friend (a big possibility of the next book be with him! - ?????).
The plot, explaining why Cameron was involved in every one foul scheme, only begins to take shape well after the middle of the book, but when it arises, in some parts you get scared of how the system is rotten and many powerful people do little about others lives. Pure reality.
And the romantic side of the story is beautiful. Cameron was not used to exposing his feelings easily; and after all he suffered, no good feeling was confident in his vision. Gradually he learns to control his panic attacks and have a little more hope for the future, and that's well showed throughout history.
And the ending is chilling.
This is an amazing series; closer to reality stories, but still shows that there is a path with more joy than sorrow, more flowers than thorns, which doesn't need to be walked alone.
Definitely awaiting the next releases .
