Larkin and Laken are twins.
While the first one has a bakery, Laken is the local veterinarian. They are beautiful and talented at what they do.
Their grandfather, Pap, is one that kind any girl would like to have in her family, always supporting his girls.
When a stranger arrives in the town asking for help to get his goats who had fled, he and Laken didn't get along very well at first, but after helping him and having him as a veterinary assistant the next day, Laken decided he was not all bad, he just had no aptitude for his new farmer's life. It was all a matter of time.
Jake McDaniel had made a great career and made a lot of money as a professional football player. Now retired, after getting seriously injured, he wants to set up the company he always wanted. The Farrington farm was only a way to lower his taxes.
But when he sees himself face to face with that veterinarian who was not afraid to say exactly what she thought, he had to admit that staying longer in that small town would be more fun than he had imagined.
Jake and Laken, perhaps, could exchange more information than just about animals, football and dreams for the future.
