(English review)

You know that book you ask yourself "why not discovered this book before?" Well, this book is one of them.

The book starts with a groom abandoned on his wedding day and a single note was left for him, without any further explanation. Five years later Charlotte back from America after receive a letter warning that her twin sister was at death's door.
Charlotte soon realizes upon arriving at the home of her family, that the letter was false. Her   sister had caught a simple cold and was recovered, but before she could escape again, she is faced with Alex.

Alex was totally devastated by the escape of Charlotte. For months he drowned in drink and in the arms of other women to try to forget her. Now, face to face with her, he realizes that he could not forget her, but it seems that she had rather forgotten. For she returned more beautiful than before, and with a son.

The issue is that the two were engaged by others secrets and because she love him too much, and do not want to soil the name of his family - after all he was a duke!! - With the story of her parentage, Charlotte chose to flee.
The horrible person who could put it all away finally died, and now Charlotte could breathe relieved. On the other hand, she had a new secret: Alex's son .

She had already hurt him before, and knew that if he knew he had a son and she didn't tell him, would be too much. So she prefers to lie about boy's age, so Alex would think  the child is not his.

How so??

You know that story where a lie leads to another and in the end everyone gets wrapped? When everything could have been solved with good conversation .... But unfortunately it still happens. And in this game of intrigue, blackmail, lies, secrets, leaks and  "illegitimate" child, the couple continues trying to pretend that no one loves the other more, which makes it more interesting ... and unnerving.

I liked the characters because they show their vulnerable side. Love and suffer with equal aplomb.
Charlotte made a terrible mistake for love. And now, the love for her child makes her keep doing silly, afraid of losing him.
Not to mention that where you least expect it, we discover who else loves us can be the one who hurts us the most ...

I liked the pace of the story, without getting lost in  unimportant details.
Charlotte and Alex are a fantastic couple, although I have been angry with her early in the story when she lied about the child.
The author knew very well expose the feelings of the characters and thus engage the reader in the plot.
I do wanna read the rest of the series.

It is a story about trust, love and second chances.

5 STARS!!!
